Tacoma is home to Surge Tacoma, a startup and co-working space that provide members with networking and Meet Up opportunities that relate to business, entrepreneurship and tech careers.
New Tech Tacoma is a Meet Up group that gathers monthly to connect, grow and support the technology ecosystem across the Pacific Northwest. New Tech Tacoma is part of New Tech Northwest, which has over 21,000 members.
Tacoma is home to VIBE, the Veterans Incubator for Better Entrepreneurship. VIBE provides an applied training environment that supports military veterans’ entrepreneurial aspirations and promotes their understanding of the modern startup life cycle.
Tacoma is home to RAIN, the Readiness Acceleration & Innovation Network. The Readiness Acceleration & Innovation Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Tacoma, WA. Working to unlock local innovation in the biotech/medical field, RAIN was founded as a collaboration between the University of Washington Tacoma, MultiCare Health System, and Madigan Army Medical Center.
The Institute of Technology at UW Tacoma offers degrees in the areas of computer science, computer engineering and information technology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity and Leadership.
